As beauty professionals, we are a little embarrassed, about our industry’s negative association with environmental issues.
As one of the world’s most prolific offenders of plastic waste, we are, despite ongoing and progressive initiatives and packaging developments, one of the worst culprits of single-use products destined for landfill.

My Cannabutter’s sustainability mission spans sourcing to product design and the consumer experience and is aimed at driving the circular economy as well as giving its customers a better avenue to connect with the values of their end customers. Kamogelo Mopai, My Cannabutter’s Founder explains, “By using Glass throughout our range, we are able to develop products which are easier for consumers to Reuse and Recycle, but do not compromise on aesthetics and luxury.”

We carefully consider all of our packaging to ensure that it is best for our products while minimising its impact upon the environment. Where possible, we strive to reduce unnecessary plastic and consciously design all our packaging without any secondary packing, with reusability and recyclability in mind, as well as maximizing the use of recycled materials.

Most of our products are carefully packaged in Glass Jars and bottles with use of minimal plastic use. We include 25% post-consumer recycled material in our plastic packaging and we are working tirelessly to improve this, with the ambition for all our plastic packaging to be 100% reusable or recyclable by 2025. We do not use any carbon black ink to colour our plastic packaging, as this cannot be detected in the recycling process.
